Finding your way around
Scorilo works with several windows:
- The control window is your workplace. Only you see it.
- The output window fills the second screen, the projector or the LED wall. This is what the audience sees.
- The settings open in a window of their own: on a Mac Scorilo → Settings…, on Windows File → Settings…, everywhere with Cmd/Ctrl+,.
- You edit slides, animations and the match slide in the editor, also in a window of its own (The editor).
The five areas of the control window
Section titled “The five areas of the control window”You choose the area at the top of the control window:
| Area | What it is for |
|---|---|
| Preparation | teams, logos, match length, squad, lineup and data sources of a match (Prepare a match) |
| Pre-game | display program, music, announcements and kickoff (Before the match) |
| Live | clock, goals, events and corrections during the match (Live: clock and goals) |
| Break | break program and resumption between two periods (Break and final whistle) |
| Media | images, videos, music, slides and animations (Manage media) |
In the top right corner you choose the current match. Every area refers to this match. A new match opens Pre-game, a match that has already started opens Live, and a match at half-time opens Break.
The bottom of the control window always holds Stop all media and, depending on the area, Announcement and Blank display. Messages appear in the bottom right corner and do not cover anything important.
When a change takes effect
Section titled “When a change takes effect”Scorilo distinguishes three kinds of changes:
- Match actions take effect immediately and are saved immediately: starting the clock, goals, events, corrections.
- Preparation changes are drafts. What you enter in Preparation only takes effect after Apply in the bottom right corner. An orange dot on the tab shows unsaved changes; Discard reverts them. Logos and the lineup save immediately.
- Settings take effect immediately but are only kept after Save Profile. In the settings you see every change straight away, for example a different theme. Save Profile keeps it, Discard restores the last saved state.
If you try to choose another match or quit Scorilo with open drafts, Scorilo asks first. Cmd/Ctrl+S applies all open drafts at once (Saving and files).
Profile and Scorilo document
Section titled “Profile and Scorilo document”All settings, slides, media and matches belong to a profile. The profile is
also your Scorilo document (.scorilo): File → Save As… creates it,
File → Open… switches to another profile. One profile is enough for most
clubs.
The menus
Section titled “The menus”| Menu | Important commands |
|---|---|
| File | New match…, Open match, Open…, Save, Save As…, Import from DFBnet…, Import Package…, Export |
| Edit | Undo, Redo, Cut, Copy, Paste |
| View | Toggle Fullscreen Output, Reopen Output Window, Move Output to Another Display… |
| Control | Start or Stop Timer, Add One Minute, Subtract One Minute, Play Horn or Buzzer, Timing and recovery… |

The keyboard shortcuts are listed in Keyboard shortcuts.
Light, dark and club colours
Section titled “Light, dark and club colours”Under Settings → General you choose the Interface theme (System setting, Light, Dark) and the Interface colors. Team colors gives buttons and selections your club’s colours. This only affects the control window, not the display.
